Floor-to-Ceiling Drapery in a Toll Brothers Home in Macanta, Castle Rock
Floor-to-ceiling drapery in Castle Rock brought warmth, softness, and scale to the soaring windows of this Toll Brothers home in Macanta, one of Castle Rock’s newest communities.
The home was stunning to begin with, but the expansive windows and two-story ceilings needed something to make the spaces feel complete. Custom drapery transformed the great room, living room, and loft without taking away from the architecture or natural light.
The Challenge
One of the challenges with new construction homes is that large open spaces can feel a little unfinished even after the furniture is in place.
In this Toll Brothers home, the dramatic ceiling height and oversized windows were beautiful architectural features, but they also created a lot of hard vertical space.
Rather than covering the windows with heavy treatments, we used full-height drapery panels to frame them and draw attention to the scale of the rooms.
Why Floor-to-Ceiling Drapery Worked So Well
The approximately 20-foot drapery panels add softness and warmth while emphasizing the height of the home.
Instead of visually shortening the windows, taking the drapery all the way up allows the eye to travel from floor to ceiling. The result feels intentional, elegant, and proportional to the architecture.
For large great rooms like this, custom drapery can completely change how the space feels without changing the home’s beautiful views or natural light.
Custom Drapery Throughout the Great Room, Living Room and Loft
We also carried the drapery treatment through the home’s main living areas, including:
- Two-story great room
- Living room
- Upper-level loft
Using drapery throughout the connected spaces created continuity from one level to the next and helped visually tie the open floor plan together.
The Transformation
This is one of those installations where the difference is immediate.
The home was already beautifully designed, but once the drapery went in, the rooms felt warmer, softer and much more finished. The fabric added another layer to the interiors without competing with the architecture.
We are incredibly grateful to our clients for trusting us with their vision and allowing us to help put the finishing touches on their new home.
